As part of our design the famous book by Natsume Sōseki: I Am a Cat (吾輩は猫である Wagahai wa neko de aru), written in 1905–1906. We shot a series of photographs using a Mamiya RZ67 Pro II with a polaroid back and the last boxes of film we could find. We very much love the quality of the Polaroid film and thought it fitted and added to the atmosphere of our design for the novel. The photographs were used inside the folded endpapers of the books, introducing an element of discovery and curiosity to the design.
